The billfish bite is beginning to increase with each passing week and this past week reflected the weekly increases once again. Along with the good fishing has been the area's weather that continues to offer very pleasant days and warm evenings. This past week's catch report included 7 sailfish, 2 white marlin, 6 dorado, 5 giant Atlantic barracuda, 2 Spanish mackerel, 2 wahoo, 5 blackfin tuna, 58 bonito, 4 amberjack, 7 triggerfish and 18 snappers for a total of 31 days fished by the fleet.

PM Climate: Partly cloudy but warm days and pleasant evenings with temps that ranged from 75 nights to 88 daytime highs.

Sea Conditions: Overall, a good week for weather with mostly calm seas and surface breezes at 10-15 mph from the easterly directions. Water temps were stable at 81-82 degrees throughout the area and clarity remained very good. There were some days with PM wind chop but just enough to make the surface fish more active and aggressive.

Best Bait: The ballyhoo continue to be the bait of choice for the skippers of this area and the crews rig the baits according to the type of fishing they will be doing.

Bait Supply: Excellent! They have never experienced a bait problem for the ballyhoo availability in the Puerto Morelos area.
