The current water temperatures throughout the Mazatlan area continue to be a few degrees warmer than normal and it seems unexplainable that we are not seeing more of the warm water pelagic big game fish in the area. Given the very favorable conditions one would expect the black and blue marlin to have filtered into the region, along with an influx of sailfish and more dorado. Unfortunately, that is not happening, at least not yet. The overall fish counts for a total of 16 offshore fishing days produced 5 sailfish, (1 released) 4 dorado and 2 mako sharks and the inshore super pangas reporting in for 4 days fished reflected 6 corvina, 12 black snook and 7 dorado for their efforts.

Mazatlan Climate: Mostly sunny through Wednesday and turning cloudy for the remainder of the week with sower possibilities at 50-80%.

Sea Conditions: Water temps stable at 89-90 degrees all over and out to 50-plus miles. Surface conditions ranged from calm to 12 mph, mostly flowing from the southwest directions.

Best Fishing Area: There doesn't appear to be any real concentration of fish in any direction and no particular area was singled out as a "best" area.

Best Bait/Lure: Rigged baits were used on all of the sailfish, the sharks and dorado.

Bait Supply: Excellent bait supply for the fresh rigging baits that are furnished with the charters. Live bait is readily available at $1.00 per bait.
