Finally, the boats are back to fishing and while there aren't many anglers, it's a big increase from the past couple of weeks that had so many port closure days due to bad weather conditions. We now see a glimmer of hope from Mazatlan and the fish are starting to cooperate better than before the storms. The offshore fishing reflected a total of 9 days fished that provided 4 sailfish, (1 released ) and 1 striper released, along with 63 dorado, (limit fishing with fish ranging in sizes from 10-20 lbs.). We had 6 days reporting for the super pangas that reflected 1 sailfish and 38 dorado for their efforts, which provided good action for the inshore anglers.

Mazatlan Climate: Much improved with sunny to partly cloudy skies through much of the week with a few scattered P.M. T-storms as the week progressed. Temps were stable with 74 degrees at nights to 90 daytime highs with a humidity level at 94%.

Sea Conditions: Inshore temps stable at 86-87 and offshore temps at 84-85 degrees. Surface breezes ranged from calm to 13 mph, flowing in from the southwest to westerly directions.

Best Fishing Areas: The outer buoys were excellent for the dorado and the billfish seemed to be congregated just south of the buoys another 4-5 miles.

Best Bait/Lures: Rigged baits best for the sailfish and a few of the bigger dorado and the colored feathers and diving lures were working well on the dorado by the buoys.

Bait Supply: Excellent! Plenty of fresh baits for rigging and live bait was available at $1.00 per bait.

In talking with Roberto, he said the fishing right now is remarkably good with most of the action taking place just a couple miles outside the Cabo Falso Light House and the...... Read More
