It was another "busman's holiday" for the Roberto Marquez and the Fish Cabo & Tuna Time crew. They fished a single half-day early in the week just out front of Gray Rock for a handful of 15-20 lb. yellowfin tuna and then returned to the dock. In talking with Roberto, he said the fishing right now is remarkably good with most of the action taking place just a couple miles outside the Cabo Falso Light House and the boats fishing that area were averaging a couple of billfish per boat fishing day and rounding out the catches with a few dorado, too. Right now, the fishing is very close to Cabo and it makes for more hours of fishing time for the anglers and as soon as the airport re-opens for the anglers, we will be back to regular fishing. We are up & running and anxious to get back to what we do best, helping anglers catch fish. He added, "the area surrounding Cabo San Lucas, is sparkling clean. There is no trash or debris anywhere, not in the town, the marina or the beaches. The area is taking the look of a posed and painted picture postcard and the folks coming in will be more than welcome. We are looking forward to their arrivals."


Cabo Climate: It was a mostly sunny, warm and dry week in Cabo San Lucas, with variable surface breezes from calm to 9 mph that were flowing mostly from the south and the easterly directions. The air temps varied from 75 nights to 93 daytime highs and the humidity level was rated at 83%.

Sea Conditions: All sides were very fishable with temps that ranged from 85-86 on the Pacific side, from the Finger Bank to Cabo San Lucas and then warming a degree or two at the Gorda Banks to 86-88. Warmest waters just outside the Gorda Banks and the 1,000 fathom curve @ 90-91 degrees.

Best Fishing Area: There was an all you want skipjack bite just outside of Gray Rock with some yellowfin tuna mixed in with the fish. Out in front of Cabo Falso Light House, about 2-4 miles, was hot for the striper and dorado action and the proximity to the harbor allowed for more fishing time for the anglers.

Best Bait/Lure: Live bait was by far the best this week for both, the billfish and the dorado, albeit, both were also taken on a variety of artificials, too.

Live Bait Supply: The live bait supply is back to excellent at the $3.00 per bait rate and 10-12 live bait per day is recommended for each fishing day.
