The inshore and offshore action slowed up a little this past week but so did the numbers of outings. The offshore fishing reports reflected a total of 11 days fished that produced 1 striped marlin, 4 sailfish, 2 dorado and 17 yellowfin tuna for the efforts of the anglers. The yellowfin tuna were found with the porpoise and in the 20-30 lb. ranges. Th inshore super pangas reported in for 7 days fished that reflected 8 dorado and 3 red snapper. There were some fluctuations in the week's weather patterns and sea surface conditions but overall, the sea temps remained stable ad the catches should rebound as we approach another full moon phase.

Mazatlan Climate: Air temps ranged from 63 nights to 86 daytime highs and a 69% humidity rate. Monday & Tuesday was mostly cloudy with a few showers, clearing p by Wednesday with just a few passing clouds for Thursday & Friday and a bright, sunny weekend for everyone.

Sea Conditions: Sea surface tropical breezes were flowing at about 9 mph and mostly from the westerly directions. Sea temps were stable at 83-84 degrees and good clarity at about 15-6 miles or so.

Best Fishing Area: Continues to be out to the southwest of the Marina El Cid, beginning at about 18 miles and working outbound from there.

Best Bait/Lure: The billfish were all taken on fresh rigged baits as were the dorado. The yellowfin tuna bit best on tuna feathers of varied colors and sizes.

Bait Supply: A good bait supply available with both, live bait at $1.00 per bait and rigging baits provided with the charter.

Vance was no threat to anything for nearly a week and then came into hurricane...... Read More
