The dorado bite through this full moon has been nothing short of terrific and most of the boats have enjoyed easy limit style fishing results for their anglers. Most of the fish are in the 12-15 lb. ranges, but there are sufficient 30-40-pounders to keep the interests up, too. Largest fish for the week was taken by the "Gaviota II", skippered by Captain Freddy Talamantes, a 260 lb. blue marlin. There was also an increase in the wahoo action . Billfish counts were down this week but that was primarily due to the fleet's focus on dorado catching. Overall counts for a combined total of 37 days fished reflected 1 blue marlin, 4 sailfish released, 9 stripers, (6 released) 7 wahoo, (35-70 lbs.) 19 yellowfin tuna and 303 dorado.

Cabo Climate: Mostly sunny days this week with temps ranging from 72 nights to 90 daytime highs.

Sea Conditions: Overall, a pretty nice week on both sides or the peninsula with good but varied water temps. From Golden Gate to Cristobal on the Pacific side, the temps were 81-83 and rising to 86 at Cabo San Lucas. Cabo to San Jose & out to the 95 and up to the 1150 on the Sea of Cortez side, the temps climbed to 89.

Best Fishing Area: The 95 was best for the yellowfin tuna. The blue marlin was taken outside Cabo Falso just a few miles. Dorado were taken from Cabo Falso to Golden Gate.

Best Lure/Bait: Live bait was most productive on the billfish and dorado, but there was also excellent dorado action on the artificials throughout the area.

Live Bait Supply: Remained good through the full moon but only caballitos.
