Just lots and lots of dorado at the buoys and providing easy fish limits for any of the boats that wish to make the stop for the all-day, fast action. Every year, this buoy fishing is a popular light tackle fishery that seems to produce an unending supply of dorado catching for the anglers and is enormously popular with family fishing anglers. The kids really love this colorful arial action that the dorado offer and contributes to a memorable fishing event for the entire family. While the billfish counts remain down for this time of year, I do believe it's because the fast-paced dorado action is luring the anglers to the dorado catching location. We reflected a total of 17 offshore fishing days that produced 1 striped marlin and 4 sailfish, along with limits of dorado for the offshore waters and for the 14 super panga fishing days the result was limit fishing for the dorado. Even better, there were many, many releases on smaller dorado that should bode well for the future fishery.
Mazatlan Climate: Partly cloudy to mostly cloudy days and temps that ranged from 75 nights to 92 daytime highs and an occasional chance for a thunder shower.
Sea Conditions: 85-86 out to about 15 miles, then falling to 83 degrees and stable, along with very good clarity throughout the area.
Best Fishing Area: Remains around the shark buoys in the 18-20 miles area for the dorado.
Best Bait/Lure: The dorado have been fairly eager on most offerings that include live bait, strips of bait, all sorts & colors of artificials from feathers, to hootchies, to Rapala types and generally, anything that moves around in the water gets bit.
Bait Supply: Excellent for live bait and fresh rigging baits.

The fishing from Cabo San Lucas has required some serious effort on the part of the crew and the anglers as the sea conditions have been changing so rapidly, almost on a daily basis, and continuous to do so. There just doesn't seem to be any 2 days alike. Good fishing and catches on one day can turn into the "skunk flag" on the next day while fishing the same location. The skippers' are having to stay...... Read More
