Another area that was very slow for trips but offered good fishing for the few that did go out. Mazatlan has had their share of rains this season and this past week seemed to be no different and the evening and night showers made a big difference in the heat of the day, albeit, the humidity levels were up there pretty good. Still the rains seemed to keep the anglers tight to the beach and slow the fish counts for the fleet. The offshore fishing report for 4 days fished reflected 1 smaller blue marlin, (about 250 lbs.) and 13 dorado and the inshore super panga fishing days, also reporting for 4 days fished, reflected 29 dorado for their efforts. Most of the dorado were in the 12-25 lb. ranges and made excellent dinner fare for the anglers.

Mazatlan Climate: Mostly cloudy days with a chance for PM & night rains and temps that ranged from 74 nights to 91 daytime highs.

Sea Conditions: Remained good throughout the week with light & variable surface breezes, mostly from the SWesterly directions and sea temps that were very stable at 86-88 degrees throughout the area.

Best Fishing Area: The dorado came over a scattered area out to the south of the Marina El Cid, in the 18-25 mile range and the inshore super pangas were mostly fishing at the buoys.

Best Bait/Lure: Live bait was best for the dorado but they were also interested in the artificials, too, especially the popper types and also good with the rigged baits trolled from the outriggers.

Bait Supply: Remains very good for the fleet with both, fresh baits for rigging and live bait for those that preferred to have the bait aboard, offering a better shot at the fish.
