For the most part, the Dorado were in the 18-30 lb. ranges, making for happy anglers. While rain had been predicted, it never came this past week and according to the office, there was an overload of sunshine for the week. The fishing was just so-so but then, the numbers of outings were a bit slower, too. The overall numbers reflected 18 days fished that resulted in a mixed bag catch of 11 species that included 18 dorado, 11 tuna, 5 giant Atlantic barracuda, 4 king mackerel, 2 wahoo, 2 bonito, 5 grouper, 1 Spanish mackerel, 7 trigger fish, 1 mutton snapper and 5 banana fish.

PM Climate: Some mostly sunny days and some partly cloudy days but overall, good weather with temps from 75 nights to 92 daytime highs.

Sea Conditions: Excellent water temps that remained stable at 84-85 degrees with light and variable tropical surface breezes in the 5-10 mph ranges flowing in from the easterly directions.

Best Bait/Lure: The freshly caught ballyhoo were still the preferred baits of choice for this area and they were being used with skirts, plain, slabs and cut baits, depending on the type of fishing.
