Lots of folks throughout the Riviera Maya enjoying the Spring Break/Easter Week period but not as many anglers as one might expect. However the fishing continued to be very good for those that did go and the overall fish per boat average held right at a mixed bag catch of 6 fish each. The overall fish counts reflected for 22 days fishing produced a 15 fish spectrum that included 4 sailfish, 7 dorado, 4 blackfin tuna, 2 giant Atlantic barracuda, 2 wahoo, 2 king mackerel, 2 Spanish mackerel, 37 bonito, 6 amberjack, 18 snappers, 5 banana fish, 14 triggerfish, 11 soap fish, 1 porgy and 17 grumpy fish. We continue to be encouraged by the early presence of billfish in the area and think this will result in a banner peak season for May & June.

PM Climate: Pleasant mornings & evenings with warm days and a mix of sunshine and clouds and temps that ranged from 68 nights to 87 daytime highs.

Sea Conditions: Water temps up a degree from last week and holding stable at 80 degrees. Good offshore clarity. Surface breezes coming in from the easterly directions from 7-15 mph.

Best Bait: The ballyhoo continue to be the area's bait of choice by the skippers, the anglers and even the fish. Even during the full moon phase, the availability is excellent and the fresh baits are provided daily.
