According to Captain Temo Verboonen, our reporter for Zihuatanejo, the fishing really shut down this past week and his overall report was a reflection of very poor fishing and overall fishing conditions. Temo says almost nothing doing for the inshore areas with very green water and then, the offshore waters were also greenish tinted and very few billfish strikes for the week. Adding to the poor fishing report was the lack of fisherman and very few boats fishing this past week.
IZ Climate: Mostly sunny through the early part of the week and then mostly cloudy through the end of the week as the jet stream moved overhead with the flow from west to east. However, the air temp remains perfect for both, day and night with ranges from 70 nights to 93 daytime highs and surface breezes in the 10-15 mph ranges.
Sea Conditions: The inshore temps currently at 77-81 out to the 100 fathom curve and then rising to 83-84 degrees from about 12 miles offshore and outbound from there. The inshore and offshore waters have turned into green water conditions throughout the area and while the surface conditions are calm enough, the fish aren't liking the water clarity.
Best Fishing Area: None reported.
Best Lure/Bait: The few strikes had during this period were primarily on the rigged trolling baits.
Bait Supply: Remains very good with plenty of live bait and fresh caught baits for rigging.
