Captain Temo Verboonen, owner/operator of the super panga, "Secuestro de Amor", reported an excellent bite going on right now for the inshore and offshore waters. The offshore waters are producing very good action on sailfish, along with a few striped marlin and blue marlin and the skippers are reporting a lot of action and fun fishing for the anglers. Everyday has been reflecting multiples of billfish strikes that start in the 10-12 mile mark and then, in the 15-30 mile mark, the yellowfin tuna have been providing fast action this past week. The water temperatures have remained consistent and warm and tend to keep the fish on location. Then, the inshore waters, especially in the Valentin River area, has been good for roosterfish and jack crevalle and we fly-fished that area, landing a couple of quality sized roosterfish and the bigger jack crevalle. Definitely, an excellent day's fly fishing and lots of fast action.

IZ Climate: Mostly cloudy days with some thunder showers predicted for the next couple of days, (it's the beginning of the rainy season). Temperatures remain excellent, 70 nights to 90 daytime highs and westerly surface breezes at 10-15 mph.

Sea Conditions: Sea temps holding perfectly at 82 inshore and rising to 83-84 offshore, with calm seas and very blue and clean water.

Best Bait/Lures: Rigged baits working best for the billfish and feathers & artificials for the yellowfin tuna. Live bait and pencil poppers still working good for the inshore waters and streamers for the fly-fishing enthusiasts.

Bait Supply: Continues to be plentiful for both, freshly caught baits for rigging and live bait. Live bait in this area is $5.00 per dozen.
