Three red flag days during this past week put a crimp on the overall fishing. It was one of the unusual windy condition weeks that was a hard enough blow to keep the sportfishers tied up to the docks. Once the winds subsided and the boats got back to fishing, the overall action was right back up and the anglers were again happy. The overall report for a total of 23 days fished reflected an 11 fish species that included 5 white marlin, 4 sailfish, 13 giant barracuda, 26 bonito, 7 dorado, 2 wahoo, 8 triggerfish, 5 banana fish, 3 grouper, 3 snappers and 11 chack-chi fish, (I am trying to find out what a check-chi is, too, and will post a report when the information arrives).

PM Climate: Partly cloudy days with temps that ranged from 72-86 degrees. A chance for an occasional thundershower continues as we approach the rainy season in this area. Surface winds ranged from light to 16 mph, all flowing in from the easterly directions.

Sea Conditions: Warmer water temps this past week that were stable at 84 degrees and ranged over the entire area.

Best Bait: The ballyhoo baits continue to be the overall bait of choice for all of the crews and anglers in this area. The freshly caught ballyhoo are provided gratis each day as part of the charter package.
