There was a little bit of a bite slowdown over the top of the full moon but it was not overly noticeable as there was sufficient action to keep the anglers and the crew on their toes. The bigger slowdown has been the lack of anglers over the past couple of weeks and that's unfortunate as the fishing has been plenty good enough for anyone looking to catch a billfish. The overall fish counts for a total of 19 days fishing reflected 19 stripers, (17 released) 1 roosterfish and 4 dorado. High billfish boat was the "Gaviota IV", skippered y Captain Octavio Castillo, landing 6 marlin for 4 days fished, with all but one released.

Cabo Climate: Wonderful, picture perfect weather with sunny & warm days and pleasant evenings. Temps stable at 70 nights to 98 daytime highs.

Sea Conditions: Calm mornings to 14 mph in the afternoons, mostly flowing in from the Southeasterly direction. Pacific side is warming up & currently at 73-74 at the Golden Gate Bank, pushing up to 76-77 at the Jaime Bank. Increasing at Cabo Falso to 78 and from Cabo San Lucas and into the Sea of Cortez all at 79 to 81.

Best Fishing Area: The 1150 Fathom Spot and surrounding area was best but fish were scattered in all offshore directions.

Best Lure/Bait: The billfish biters seemed to like the fresh dead baits as well as the live baits and often, they would bite the dead baits quicker. A few fish being attracted to the artificials but the rigged baits and live baits are best.

Live Bait Supply: Remains readily available for the fleets at the $3.00 per bait rate.
