According to Captain Temo Verboonen, the fishing is really very good but the lack of anglers for fishing is the missing part. Temo says the sailfish bite is providing hot action for the few anglers that do go and there are many smaller dorado along the tide lines and water color changes. As for the inshore action, the roosterfish bite is excellent and continues to provide good catches of bigger fish, (many in the 40-60 lb. ranges) along the Pantla and Valentin beaches. The roosterfish are pretty active on the Poppers and live bait and can be seen chasing the bonito around. Overall, the fishing is really very good for both, inshore and offshore and all we need for this area are a few anglers.

IZ Climate: Mostly cloudy conditions with small chance for an occasional shower. Temps are ranging from 74 nights to 92 daytime highs.

Sea Conditions: Excellent! Good water temps that remain stable from inshore to offshore at 85-86 degrees. Surface breezes continue to be on the lighter side and mostly flowing in from the westerly directions to about 8-9 mph.

Best Fishing Area: The offshore bite for sailfish is straight out from the bay at about 14 miles or so and the dorado are along the tide and color change lines. Roosterfish along Pantla and Valentine Beaches.

Best Lure/Bait: Rigged bait working very well on the billfish and small artificials working well on the dorado. Roosters taking the poppers and as well as live bait and continue to be eager to bite.

Bait Supply: No problems with the bait supply with plenty of fresh rigging baits and plenty of live bait at the $5.00 per dozen rate.
