Just at a time when we thought the rainy season was diminishing a new tropical depression pop's up in the eastern Pacific and appears to be coming up with about a 10-day rainy stretch at this point. However, the past week has been providing some really good fishing, especially for the offshore fishing and the boats have been targeting the sailfish and dorado and not too far from the Bay. There are finally a few more anglers showing up at the dock and that has helped with better fish reports and happy customers and crew. The offshore fishing has been very good to excellent but the inshore fishing has been just the opposite, very slow to not at all, with lots of green & dirty water inshore.

IZ Climate: Mostly cloudy and rainy conditions predicted from October 14 thru the 23rd, with wide-spread thunder storms throughout the area resulting from the new tropical depression, 92E. It's going to be a "wait & see" if it turns into anything more than a tropical depression, so give it a few days to see what develops in this area and on up the line along the Pacific coast. Air temps ranging from 74 nights to 89 daytime highs and 83% humidity levels.

Sea Conditions: It's been a pretty good week so far, albeit, some thunder showers, but sea surface conditions are fine. Surface breezes to 9mph, flowing mostly from the southwest directions. Sea temps 86-87 out to about 10 miles and then stable at 85 degrees.

Best Fishing Area: Just beyond the current lines, starting at about 8 miles offshore and straight out from the Bay's entrance. Very good sailfish bit area and dorado are scattered all along the current line where debris is present. A few bigger blue marlin taken farther offshore with some checking in at 200 kg.

Best Bait/Lures: Rigged and live baits working very well for sailfish and dorado. Blue marlin biting on larger artificials and bigger rigged baits.

Bait Supply: Remains very good despite the rainy conditions. Plenty of fresh baits for rigging and live bait at the $5.00 per dozen rate. (That's a bargain for live bait).
