A mostly sunny & warm week with clear skies and light tropical breezes. The Los Cabos Billfish Tournament wound up on Saturday with Alaskan angler, Jason Snyder, landing the biggest blue marlin on the lst fishing day, taking home $20,700.00 for his fight effort. Jason was fishing the Reel Gold Team. Angler Gonzalo Gastillo, San Jose Del Cabo, landed a 180 lb. yellowfin tuna for top tuna, fishing for Estrella del Norte Team, capturing $2,100.00 and Richard Matson, fishing for Reel Gold Team captured the biggest wahoo, checking in at 43.6 lbs. All in all, it was a fun and successful tournament that was hosted at the Playa Grande Resort. Today was the first day of the Bisbee Tournament and as of this afternoon, I don't have any final first day information. High billfish boat for the week was the "Fish Cabo", reporting in for 3 days fished and reflecting 1 blue marlin released in the Bisbee, 4 stripers released, 2 sailfish released and 6 dorado and followed by the "Tuna Time", also with 3 days that resulted in 3 stripers released and 7 dorado. The overall fish counts for 18 days fished reflected a total of 1 blue marlin released, 10 stripers released, 2 sailfish released, 17 dorado and 1 yellowfin tuna.

Cabo Climate: Temps ranged from 68 nights to 95 daytime highs and lots of sunshine over the area. Humidity levels at 69%. Very nice weather for the fall fishing tournaments.

Sea Conditions: Good on both sides of the peninsula. Surface breezes to about 10 mph, flowing mostly from the easterly directions. Temps on the Pacific side from the Finger Bank to Cristobal were stable at 82-83 degrees and warming at Cabo Falso and around to the Gorda Banks at 84-85 degrees.

Best Fishing Area: Between the Herradura, (aka Horseshoe) and the 1150 fathom spot for the past couple of days and today, it was the outer Gorda Banks area

Best Bait/Lure: Live bait on the stripers and a few dorado and the sailfish. The blue marlin was on an artificial.

Bait Supply: Good live bait supply at the $3.00 per bait rate.
