According to Captain Temo Verboonen, owner & skipper of the Secuestro de Amor, the full moon made little difference in this area as the fishing came back in a full swing bite in the offshore waters with all boats having many sailfish strikes on a daily basis. The fly fishermen were having terrific success with their streamers that were providing multiple strikes and numerous hook-up opportunities. The blue water is holding at about 10 miles out front of the Bay and the main bite is at the 15-16 mile mark. Still a few dorado around but not in the numbers of the past two weeks. The inshore fishing remains very good for bigger Sierras, biting well on the Megabite lures and jack crevalle, biting well on everything used. Unfortunately, not many roosterfish this past week but overall, the fishing for inshore and offshore is excellent.

IZ Climate: Temperatures varied from 65 nights to 87 daytime highs and a 63% humidity ratio. It's was a partly cloudy week with a sunny & warm weekend. Very pleasant weather conditions.

Sea Conditions: Excellent temps holding stable at 85 degrees from inshore to offshore. Good clarity from about 10 miles outside the Bay. Surface breezes from calm to about 8 mph, flowing mostly from the westerly directions.

Best Fishing Area: Starting at about 15 miles outside the Bay in a southwesterly direction.

Best Bait/Lure: The freshly provided rigged baits working very well for the billfish and the larger dorado in the offshore waters. Jack crevalle biting almost anything presented that moves and the Sierra partial to the Megabite Lures.

Bait Supply: Excellent and with no effect from the full moon condition. Freshly caught baits for rigging provided as part of the charters and live bait available at $5.00 per dozen.
