It was just another incredible fishing week from Puerto Morelos this past week that provided anglers with a 15 fish variety for the anglers for 26 days fished. Adding to the excitement for the week was the inclusion of 8 sailfish that are very unusual for late November, along with 2 dorado, 35 bonito 8 Spanish mackerel, 31 blackfin tuna, 10 needle fish, 1 wahoo, 1 amberjack, 1 shark, 24 giant barracuda, 15 banana fish, 21 trigger fish, 18 chac-chi, 14 snapper and 24 grouper. Overall, it was a banner fishing week that allowed for an 8.2 fish average per boat fishing day. According to our new area reporter, Ms. Adriana Guzman, the near end of the year sailfish catches are an enormously welcome addition to the area's fishing catches and has added to the anglers' daily catch anticipation. The anglers were already pumped-up before they got underway.

PM Climate: It was a week of partly cloudy days with an occasional scattered shower in the mix. Temps ranged from a warm 68 at night to 81 daytime highs and a humidity level at 74%.

Sea Conditions: Tropical surface breezes were flowing in mostly from the easterly directions and ranged from near calm to 13 mph. Sea temps continued to be stable at 81-82 degrees throughout the area.

Best Lure/Bait: Ballyhoo continue to be the only bait used in this area and the crews rig them for trolling in the outriggers and downriggers or cut them for bottom fishing.

Bait Supply: The ever trusted ballyhoo continue to be the baits of choice for the anglers and the crews and continue to be provided freshly caught on a daily basis.
