Another very good fishing week from Puerto Morelos that continued to reflect the wide variety catches produced in this fun fishing area. The overall catch report for a total of 15 trips reflected 1 sailfish, 12 Atlantic barracuda, 49 Bonito, 5 King Mackerel, 2 Spanish mackerel, 1 rainbow runner, 1 porgy, 2 triggerfish, 6 red snappers, 3 amberjack and 17 grouper. Due to the proximity of the fishing grounds from the Marina El Cid at Puerto Morelos, it's easy to fish surface and bottom fish on any of the various trips offered that range from 4 to 8 hours in duration.
PM Climate: Partly cloudy days with good periods of bright sunshine. Temps ranging from 62 nights to 84 daytime highs.
Sea Conditions: Generally very good throughout the area with light surface breezes to about 10 knots and sea temps holding well at 82 degrees.
Best Bait/Lure: The rigged and un-rigged ballyhoo continue to reign in this area and the area's fish tend to prefer fresh ballyhoo.
