A great fishing week at Puerto Morelos provides a wide spectrum of mixed bag catches

Another banner fishing week from Puerto Morelos that provided an incredibly wide spectrum in the mixed bag catches that also included 3 off-season sailfish in the mix. The overall catches for 23 days fished reflected 3 sailfish, 1 dorado, 20 giant Atlantic barracuda, 12 grouper, 2 banana fish, 19 strawberry fish, 14 snapper, 1 amberjack, 4 Spanish mackerel, 6 king mackerel, 11 triggerfish, 1 soap fish and 3 pargo.

PM Climate: Partly cloudy days with very comfortable temperatures that ranged from 66 nights to 86 daytime highs.

Sea Conditions: A stable 84 degree temp remains throughout the area with good clarity and light and variable surface breezes in the 5-10 mph ranges.

Best Bait: The always available ballyhoo continue to be the bait of choice for all off the crews in the area.
