Captain Temo Verboonen, our on-the-spot local reporter and skipper/owner of the super panga, "Secuestro de Amor" said the fishing at Zihuatanejo contines strong. Temo added, "the big difference this past week reflected a substantial slow down for charters with very few anglers showing up at the dock each morning. There are still very good catches of marlin and sailfish, along with some quality sized dorado for the offshore waters, just 12 miles from the Bay, where the green water turns crystal blue and clean. The inshore waters gained some momentum this past week and the jack crevalle, bonitos, chulas and Sierra have all returned with the best action at Valentin Point. Schools of sardines moved into the area this past week and the predators moved in after them. Oddly, the water color inshore is still a dark green and what I consider to be poor quality, but the fish are in it and that's what counts".

IZ Climate: Partly cloudy but pleasantly warm days and evenings with temps that ranged from 73 nights to 93 daytime highs.

Sea Conditions: Mostly calm seas with off shore temps holding stable at 84 degrees. Temp break and color break at about 12 miles from the Bay and light & variable surface breezes each day. Inshore waters cooler at 81-82 and very poor clarity.

Best Lure/Bait: Rigged baits have been working very well for the sailfish and dorado and the bigger bonito baits working well for the marlin.

Best Fishing Area: Starting at the temp and clarity break at approximately 12 miles westerly from the Zihuatanejo Bay entrance.

Bait Supply: Excellent for this area with a great supply of baits for rigging and live baits for both, inshore and offshore fishing.
