The offshore fishing from Mazatlan continues to be good and the anglers are continuing to have a 70% chance for a billfish, either sailfish or blue marlin and an opportunity at some quality sized dorado for dinner. The inshore super pangas are also seeing some much improved action for their anglers and producing a mixed bag catch of both, bottom fish and surface fish. Offshore reports for the past week reflected 10 days fished that reflected 2 blue marlin, (250-300-lbs) 5 sailfish, 2 wahoo and 26 dorado. The inshore super pangas fished 7 days and reflected 2 sailfish, 9 dorado, 15 triggerfish, 8 red snappers, 14 rock perch and 1 permit.

Mazatlan Climate: The remnants of Raymond hovered over Mazatlan for Sunday & Monday and then the week turned for the better as Raymond moved out of the area. Temps ranged from 66 nights to 87 daytime highs and partly cloudy skies for most of the week.

Sea Conditions: Temps held at 86-87 degrees from inshore to offshore with varied surface breezes mostly from the westerly directions at 9-12 mph. and little swell condition also from the westerly directions.

Best Fishing Area: Starting at about 15-17 miles out to the southwest of the Marina El Cid and working outbound from there as the clarity increased.

Best Lure/Bait: Sailfish and bigger dorado were good on the rigged baits & live baits and the blue marlin on the bigger dorado colored artificials.

Bait Supply: Continues to be excellent for both, fresh baits for rigging and live bait at $1.00 per bait.
