"The waters are calm, temperature is perfect, good clarity and the sailfish and dorado are concentrated just 6-10 miles out in front of the bay and continue to be unusually cooperative for the anglers". The captains report many strikes and multiples of opportunities everyday for both, sailfish and dorados. The inshore action is very good for jack crevalle and Sierra, (Spanish mackerel) but the roosterfish are being more difficult. They are there but keep moving around and makes it more difficult to focus on a single type of fish. All in all, the fishing we have right now is good for the novice or very experienced anglers, including the fly fishing anglers.
IZ Climate: Mostly sunny and warm days with an occasional cloud here and there. Temps range from 73 nights to 93 daytime highs and the sea breezes continue to be light and variable.
Sea Conditions: Excellent water temps holding stable at 85 degrees and very good clarity from just outside the 6-mile mark. Very light surface breezes and almost no swell in the area.
Best Fishing Area: Continues to start at just beyond the 6-mile mark and continues through the next 4 miles outbound from there.
Best Lure/Bait: The rigged baits are working perfectly and the live bait is also performing very well for the anglers. The lures continue to grab a few dorado's interest and if the angler gets a live bait in before the dorado is removed, they are catching others, too.
Bait Supply: Excellent supply of live bait and freshly caught baits for rigging. Live bait continues to be provided at $5.00 per dozen.
