The past couple of weeks the bottom fishing has far out weighed the surface action throughout this area but still, there has been sufficient action in both to keep the angler's interest level amped up. Most notable so far this summer is the lack of hurricane weather in the area and we are near the middle of the summer storm season. So far, only occasional rain showers here & there and a few days of above average wind conditions but the rest has been pretty good fishing weather and so far, look to continue through the end of the month and perhaps longer. There is really no adverse weather conditions slated for the remainder of August and if that holds, we will have "skated" an easy season. As for the fishing, the billfish seemed to have left the area a couple of seeks back but the overall catches have been reflecting a 10+ fish average for the anglers for each fishing day. This past week's reports for 26 days fished, reflected 4 dorado, 23 bonito 9 giant barracuda, 1 Spanish mackerel, 2 amberjack, 3 needle fish, 1 king mackerel, along with 84 snappers, 48 triggerfish, 89 banana fish, 13 grouper, 2 strawberry fish, 3 soap fish and 3 grumpy fish.

PM Climate: Air temps ranged from 76 nights to 91 daytime highs and the humidity level was 84%. Overall, a good week's weather for this time of year with a sun-cloud mix for the early week, afternoon and night showers, rain most of the day for Saturday and bright sun on Sunday.

Sea Conditions: Sea temps stable at 86 degrees from Cancun to Cozumel. Surface breezes flowing in from the easterly directions to about 12 mph.

Best Bait: The bait of choice remains the steady and reliable availability of the ballyhoo in a variety of sizes attractive to the area's game fishes.

Bait Supply: A continuous fresh supply available in a variety of sizes, everyday, and provided as part of the charter price.
