The only real change this past week was the lack of sailfish and I have attributed that element to the full moon phase condition and given the lack of any other significant change in this area. The bottom fishing action far outweighed the surface activity for the week but the overall variety catches for this area remained stable. Reports for a total of 33 days fished reflected 52 snappers, 85 triggerfish, 65 banana fish, 5 pilot fish, 5 amberjack, 12 strawberry fish, 23 soap fish, 17 giat barracuda, 13 bonito, 6 Spanish mackerel, 3 needle fish, 10 grouper and 1 king mackerel.

PM Climate: The full moon seemed to change the billfish bite this past week for the anglers from Puerto Morelos. This was the first report for the past 6 months that didn't reflect a single billfish in the week's fishing report and the only real change was the full moon condition. The weather has been good to excellent, albeit, an occasional scattered shower. Humidity levels are high at 89% and the temps ranged from 76 nights to 90 daytime highs.

Sea Conditions: Surface breezes were gentle and mostly from the easterly directions to 11 mph. Sea temps stable at 84-85 degrees throughout the area.

Best bait: The freshly caught ballyhoo continues to be the favorite bait of choice for the anglers and the crews and is provided every morning by the bait catchers.
