The fishing from Puerto Morelos never ceases to amaze me. Not only is there a wide variety of different game fish but the angler can fish the entire spectrum on the same day. The Samila Family Group, fishing aboard the "Aries VI" had a 2 sailfish day and rounded out their catch with 5 bonito, 2 blue runners and 2 groupers on the same day. We are six months off the peak sailfish season and they are still available in the area. The overall catch report for the week that reflected 20 days fished reflected 5 sailfish, 71 bonito, 1 shark, 22 Atlantic barracuda, 7 king mackerel, 2 blue runners, 5 amberjack, 10 grouper, 2 Spanish mackerel and 10 triggerfish.

PM Climate: Mostly cloudy days with intermittent sunshine periods and temps that ranged from 65 nights to 85 daytime highs.

Sea Conditions: Good temps throughout the area and holding at 82-83 degrees with some light P.M. wind chop and surface breezes from 5 to 15 knots from the easterly directions.

Best Bait/Lure: Still using the rigged and un-rigged ballyhoo that are caught daily in this area.
