Another great fishing week from Cabo San Lucas, even with the full moon conditions. While the billfish counts slowed up a little, it was still excellent action for most of the boats. The "highliner" for the week was the "Tuna Time", skippered by Captain Roberto Padilla, releasing 12 stripers for two fishing days and taking one of the only two wahoo for the week. This count was followed closely by the "Gaviota VII", skippered by Captain Alberto Garcia, producing 13 stripers released for 3 days fished and landing two of the 6 tuna for the week. The combined overall counts for 27 days fished reflected 56 stripers, (51 released) 2 wahoo, 6 yellowfin tuna and 25 dorado.
Cabo Climate: Excellent and near picture perfect for the Thanksgiving day weekend, with temps from 60 nights to 83 daytime highs.
Sea Conditions: Remain very good for both sides of the peninsula. Pacific side has a north/south temp break that runs from just south of Todos Santos, outside the Golden Gate Bank, splits the Jaime Bank, with 74 outbound edges butting up to 78-79 degrees. This temp wraps the Cape and extends into the sea of Cortez and rises gently to 80-81 degrees. All blue/clean water.
Best Fishing Area: Remains on the Pacific side with Los Arcos and Golden Gate Bank best.
Best Lures/Bait: Live bait was best but plenty of strikes on the artificials with the billfish and multiples of colors working equally well.
Live Bait Supply: Remained good for our boats but some diminished supply over the full moon for some boats.
