While the fishing remains good throughout the area, it appears that the marlin have moved off the area for the season? We'll see what the coming weeks bring. Still seeing sailfish in the counts, along with dorado and tuna, but the biggest change this past week has been the numbers of grouper and bottom fish. Perhaps it was just the anglers' wishes for their fishing days with more focusing on the bottom fish? The overall catches for surface & bottom fish for 27 days fished reflected 5 sailfish, 9 dorado, 16 blackfin tuna, 8 giant barracuda, 10 bonito and 3 Spanish mackerel and for the bottom fish, 26 grouper, 28 triggerfish, 12 strawberry fish, 1 porgy, 27 banana fish, 2 snappers & 10 soap fish.

PM Climate: Partly cloudy days with some intermittent sunshine periods and temps that ranged from 73 nights to 91 daytime highs and elevated humidity levels.

Sea Conditions: A mostly calm week with light & variable surface breezes in the 5-10 mph ranges and flowing from the prevailing easterly directions. Sea temps stable at 84-85 throughout the area.

Best Bait: The unending availability of the ballyhoo continues to be the bait of choice for this region and remains plentiful and available on a daily basis. The skippers and mates in this region have perfected the use of the ballyhoo to target the various species and types of fishing methods for the varieties of fish being pursued.
