According to Captain Roberto Marquez, owner of the Fish Cabo, the marlin are everywhere right now from just off the arch, about a mile or so, and from Cabo Falso to wherever you want to go toward the Sea of Cortez. There is probably really good fishing on the Golden Gate and Jaime Banks, on the Pacific side right now, but no need to make the run and burn the fuel. We fished 3 days on "Tuna Time" and had two 3 striper days and and one 6 striper day for a total of 12 stripers released for the 3 fishing days and all within 10 miles from the slip. High boat for the week was the "Gaviota VII", reporting in for 23 stripers released for 4 days fished and rounded out his catch with 7 dorado. Just a terrific catch for the week and it appears to be on-going. Seems like the only limitations may be with angler stamina? The overall combined catches for a total of 29 days fished reflected 93 stripers, (89 released) 18 dorado and 12 yellowfin tuna. By far, the best billfish report for the year so far.

Cabo Climate: Plenty of sunshine between the partly cloudy days and warm temperatures that varied between 77 nights to 95 daytime highs.

Sea Conditions: Continue to be very good fishing conditions with fairly calm waters and small swells. The Pacific side, from the beach and out to about 6 miles is back to being cold at 72 degrees. Beyond 6 miles, temps increase to 78-79. From Cabo Falso to Gorda Banks, 5-9 miles off, water temps at 85. The 95 Fathom Sport to the 1150 Fathom Spot, temps drop to 83 degrees.

Best Fishing Area: Billfish continue to be in all directions and for the most part, are eager to bite. It's what we call, "easy fishing" with many billfish opportunities everyday.

Best Lure/Bait: Artificials are doing very well and providing very good strike acttion. So are the live baits and even the rigged ballyhoo are getting bit regularly.

Bait Supply: Continues to be very good for caballitos and for the frozen ballyhoo for rigging baits, all at $3.00 each.
