The fishing has been great but the catching has been slow and when you combine it with the not so pleasant sea surface and weather conditions, it just hasn't been such a good fishing week. This past week there were a total of 6 offshore fishing days that reflected a total catch of 10 dorado and 4 yellowfin tuna and add that to 2 super panga fishing days that reflected 2 dorado and 3 yellowfin tuna. It seems like the weather just starts to take a break and then comes right back to make the fishing really difficult and make marginal anglers not so anxious to go out.
Mazatlan Climate: It's been another wet week for Mazatlan, too, with plenty of rain in the late afternoons and the nights and off and on rain throughout the days for Friday and Saturday.
Sea Conditions: A couple of port closure days due to inclement weather conditions that consisted of choppy seas and windy surface conditions. Surface winds have been mostly from the westerly directions to about 15 mph. Water temps remained stable and held at 83-84 degrees throughout the area.
Best Lure/Bait: Petrolero and smaller lures and feathers working well for the dorado and the yellowfin tuna.
Bait Supply: Remains plentiful for both, live bait and fresh rigging baits. Live bait is $1.00 per bait.

The overall combined catches for a total of 27 days fished reflected 2 blue marlin,...... Read More
