Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo Fishing Report

I had a "no fishing report" from Zihuatanejo this past week due to the ongoing passing hurricanes, rough offshore sea conditions, port closures and a lack of anglers to go fishing. According to Captain Temo Verboonen, this has been a terrible fishing summer for the Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo region and mostly due to the adverse weather conditions that tend to make it uncomfortable to fish in the rough & bumpy weather and then toss a bit of rain into the scenario and you have the recipe for not want to get out and go fishing. All of the ports we provide charters for throughout Mexico, including the Caribbean side, has had more than their fair-share of wet weather and sufficient surface wind conditions to make the fishing not nearly as much fun, even for the hard-core anglers.

IZ Climate: A little drier early in the week with PM and night rains, then Thursday through Sunday day & night rains.

Sea Conditions: Some choppy and rough days. Sea temps holding at 84-85 degrees. Winds flowing in from the south to the West with a couple of port closure days.
