According to Captain Temo Verboonen, the fishing is "good as it gets" for the anglers and boats that stayed tight in the fishing area and didn't venture outside too far. The marlin, sailfish and dorado were all available and eager to bite on the rigged trolling baits. The action continues to be multiples of strikes every day and the weather is nothing short of terrific to make the event a super-fun fishing trip. Our dilemma right now is the lack of anglers that want to enjoy the great fishing we are having to offer that is being more than complimented by the superb weather & sea conditions. Even the inshore action in the area around Valentin River, is producing big sierras and jack crevalles and roosterfish, too.
IZ Climate: Picture perfect weather with temps ranging from 65 nights to 88 daytime highs and a 70% humidity level. It's that time of year to beat the cold and the snow and head south for some warm weather & hot fishing.
Sea Conditions: Excellent conditions with perfect water temps all in the 85-86 degree ranges from inshore to offshore. Surface breezes ranging from none to about 5 mph and flowing in gently from the southwesterly directions.
Best Fishing Area: The billfish and dorado are eager to bite in the 6-9-mile range, just out front of the Bay. The short distance is allowing for more fishing time for the anglers.
Best Bait/Lures: Rigged baits are providing good action in the offshore waters and smaller lures, poppers nd live bait is working well for the inshore fishing.
Bait Supply: Excellent bait supply for both, fresh rigging baits provided as part of the charter or live baits at $5.00 per dozen.
