The surface and bottom fishing action from Puerto Morelos this past week provided some exceptional fishing action for the anglers and produced a 9.6 fish per boat day average. The fish counts for 28 days on the water reflected a 12 fish variety that included 31 giant barracuda, 42 bonito, 2 wahoo, 3 needlefish, 6 blackfin tuna, 35 amberjack, 2 porgy, 11 grouper, 43 snappers, (the fish of the week) 28 triggerfish and 41 chac-chi. According to our Puerto Morelos fishing skippers, this fall fishing is terrific fun for the family and providing many fun-fishing days for all of the anglers.

PM Climate: There are intervals of sun and clouds and even a possible passing thunder shower, but overall, our weather is very good and ranging from 68 nights to 81 daytime highs and a humidity level of 61%.

Sea Conditions: Until Thursday, the weather and sea conditions were very good and very fishable. On Thursday, the wind blew pretty hard, 20-30 mph, and allowed for a port closure day. The surface winds are flowing in from the northeastelry directions at 10-15 mph. and providing a slight surface chop that makes the fish want to bite. Water temps are stable throughout the area at 82-83 degrees.

Best Bait: The freshly caught ballyhoo baits continue to be the bait of choice for the anglers and the crews and is provided as part of the charters for all trips.
