Cabo has certainly received her share of rain this summer season and this past week provided some very heavy rains from time to time and even had the port closed on Monday. The fishing has slowed a bit but so has the anglers and the numbers of outings have been reduced, considerably. This past week reflected a combined total of 16 days fished that reflected 16 stripers, (all released) 2 sailfish, (1 released) and 91 dorado. High billfish boat for the week was the "Gaviota IX", reflecting 5 stripers released for 3 days fished and the "Tuna Time", reflecting 4 stripers released for 1 day fished.

Cabo Climate: Warm and humid temperatures that varied from 75 nights to 88 daytime highs. From partly cloudy to cloudy days and some heavy rain showers during the early week very little surface wind.

Sea Conditions: Considering the weather, (rainy conditions) the sea surface has remained fishable for the entire week, albeit, the port was closed for a single day for safety issues by the Captain of the Port. The temps remain excellent from the Pacific side to the Sea of Cortez side, and ranged from 82-83 on the Pacific side to 86-87 on the Sea of Cortez side, starting at Chileno and ranging to the north. Generally, light and variable surface winds to about 14 mph with varied directions depending on the day.

Best Fishing Area: On the Pacific side from Cabo Falso to Margaritas, 2-4 miles offshore.

Best Bait/Lures: Both are working very well for the stripers and the dorado.

Live Bait Supply: Remains excellent for the caballitos at $3.00 per bait.
