The Port of Mazatlan was closed for six consecutive days following September 1, 2014, which was a day that no boats were out due to lack of charter participation and no report of any action was provided. As we move into this weeks possibilities, it is likely the port will again be closed due to the advance of a new hurricane named, Odile, that is slowly moving up the line and more toward Cabo San Lucas but will still have a huge effect on Mazatlan, simultaneously, beginning Friday afternoon and continuing on through Sunday evening.
Mazatlan Climate: Air temps ranged from 75 nights to 93 daytime highs and a humidity level at 75% and currently with a surface breeze of 11-12 mph, flowing in from the southwest.
Sea Conditions: Mostly rough and windy conditions with sea temps that are warm at 88-89 degrees and conducive to hurricane conditions.
