Good news from Puerto Morelos this past week for the fishing and the weather. So far, it's been a week of scattered thunder storms, almost on a daily basis, save for Friday, which was a mostly sunny and pleasant day. The numbers of fishing charters is typical for the month of September, given the typical hot & humid weather conditions and the summer hurricane season. Evens so, there has been some really good weather for the summer fishing season and with any luck at all, it will continue. This past week we reflected 19 charter fishing days that produced 6 sailfish, 5 Spanish mackerel, 12 bonito, 11 giant barracuda, 2 needlefish , 1 shark, 17 grouper, 1 strawberry fish, 11 snappers, 25 chak-chi, 3 pilot fish, 20 banana fish, 33 triggerfish and 33 soapfish.

PM Climate: Occasional thunder showers, particularly in the late afternoons and evenings is the norm at this time of year. The temps are ranging between 76 nights to 89 daytime highs with a 79% humidity level.

Sea Conditions: Surface breezes flowing mostly from the easterly directions at 8-14 mph, keeping the area very fishable with water temps that are holding well at 84-85 degrees.

Best Bait: Continues to be the readily available ballyhoo baits supplied on a daily basis for the various sportfishing operations throughout the area.
