It was another week of great fishing results, albeit, the numbers of charters were down substantially for the week, according to our local reporter, Ms. Nayade Gamboa. She reported one port closure day but otherwise, the sea conditions were pretty favorable throughout the area with mostly light easterly surface breezes and calm waters. The overall fish counts for a total of 13 day reflected 41 bonito, 1 wahoo, 1 king mackerel, 1 Spanish mackerel, 2 giant Atlantic barracuda, 9 blackfin tuna & 2 amberjack for the surface fish, along with 18 grouper, 20 snappers, 23 triggerfish, 4 soap fish, 37 grumpy fish & 8 blue runners. All in all, it averaged about 13 fish per boat fished day allowing plenty of action for the anglers.

Climate: Partly cloudy but warm days and pleasant evenings with varied temps that ranged from 67 nights to 86 daytime highs.

Sea Conditions: Sea temperatures holding stable at 84-85 degrees all along the coast, both inshore and offshore. Light surface breezes that ranged from 7-11mph, mostly from the easterly directions.

Best Bait/Lure: No change for this area. The ever-present ballyhoo continues to be the bait of choice for the anglers and skippers.

Bait Supply: Continues to be readily available on a daily basis and is unaffected by the full moon conditions.
